Thousands Colors, master textile artisans from Lima, Peru, partnered with Squiggles by Charlie to create The 1776 Edition — a collection of heirloom baby blankets commemorating the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
This collaboration unites two legacies:
Peruvian craftsmanship, preserved since 1993 through hand-knitted and hand-embroidered textiles.
American heritage, celebrated through symbols of resilience, belonging, courage, and leadership.
Each blanket is hand-stitched in premium Pima cotton with silk thread, taking four to six hours of deliberate work by a single artisan. Limited to 250 pieces, these blankets are not mass production — they are wishes transformed into thread, designed to be passed down as family heirlooms.
As one catalog beautifully states: “This blanket is the meeting of two legacies.”
